THE BIBLE EXPLAINS HOW TO BECOME A DISCIPLE OF THE LORD JESUS: :
Step 1: Admit your sin
Admitting your sin and thereby knowing that you cannot meet God’s standards of holiness. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. » also read Romans 3:9 and Ecclesiastes 7:20 “No, there is no righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.»
Step 2: The consequences of my sins
Understand that the consequence of our sin is death, meaning physical death and spiritual death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Step 3: Accept God’s gift
Irrefutably accept the one gift of God as a remedy for sin. God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place to save us from hell. Romans 5:8 says, “But God proves his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. » When reading this Biblical text, we are not invited to adhere to a religious principle, nor to do more good than evil. God gives his gift freely to all who ask him. “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
confess your sins with a sincere heart in a prayer, called the prayer of repentance. And make the honest decision to abandon your weaknesses, your hidden sins. read Psalms 32 of David, verses 1 to 5::
“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is forgiven!
Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile!
As long as I was silent, my bones were consumed, I groaned all day;
For night and day your hand weighed heavily on me, My vigor was nothing but drought, like that of summer. – Break.
I have made known to you my sin, I have not hid my iniquity; I said, I will confess my transgressions to the LORD! And you have blotted out the penalty of my sin. Break.
So let every pious man pray to you at the proper time! If great waters overflow, they will not reach him at all.”.
Step 4: Join a local church
You then need to seek out a pastor of Jesus Christ so that you can be helped by the pastor and the local congregation he leads. You must then integrate this local assembly, participate in all its activities, let yourself be used by the Lord JESUS, in order to save other people as you have also been saved. Simply put, Growing in Faith is now your challenge. Know this well, you must confess your past life to the local pastor so that he may pray for you and guide you in the faith according to the Holy Scriptures (James 5:16/ Ps 32:5), because not all the faithful have not the same needs and the same challenges.
